| South Youth Panel | |
| Are you mad about hockey? Are you aged between 14 and 21? If you answered 'yes' then you should think about joining the South Youth Panel. The South Youth Panel is a group of committed 14-21 year olds, who represent the youth of hockey in the South of England, aiding development across the region. We’re looking for enthusiastic young people keen on hockey including umpires, leaders, coaches, players, officials or supporters who would like to make a difference to hockey as they know it. We have 4/5 meetings a year as well as helping to organise and run the South Schools and Clubs Mini-hockey Championships. As well as being on the panel looking really impressive on your CV and University applications you also get the opportunity to achieve personal and group goals and implement initiatives throughout the South. As an applicant we would ask that you will be able to commit to: • 18th Feb (Meetings – Surbiton HC) • 24th & 25th April (Schools Championships - Surbiton HC) • 1st & 2nd May (Clubs Championships - Surbiton HC) If you would like to share your hockey experiences with other hockey like minded individuals, please email south@englandhockey.org for an application form | |
| Umpire responsibility for contacting Coaches assigned to their game | |
| To All Umpires - when a Coach / Assessor has been appointed to your game, you MUST make contact with that person to confirm the game time and location. At this point it is also usefull to confirm points that you wish the coach to review for you. Please make contact well before the game on Saturday. Simon Seabrook Appointments Secretary | |
| Contacting Umpires for match day confirmations | |
| Yet again I have to remind all club umpire contacts that you MUST contact the umpires appointed to your home games to confirm push back times, location and after game location for refreshments. You MUST contact by Tuesday of the week of the game, failure to do so from next week will leave me no alternative but to remove the umpires leaving your club falling foul of the league rules and hence 3pts deducted and the match having to be replayed. Please make sure you follow these simple instructions. Simon Seabrook Appointments Secretary | |
| Guidance to Umpires on the 2009 Rules of Hockey | |

| Access to Newlands Park | |
| Please note the following messgae from Chalfont & Amersham hockey club. IMPORTANT - as you are aware now that all the students have vacated Newland Park, there is just a security guard on the main gate. Therefore, ALL teams and officials will now have to enter via the main gate past the Gatehouse - the back entrance will not be open. Also, the entrance to Newlands now has no reference to the University and just says that it is Chiltern open Air Museum. | |
